William Cano

As the General Counsel and Secretary of Trio, Will’s role is to oversee the legal affairs of the company and its subsidiaries. He’s based in Trio’s Southern California office. 

Prior joining Trio, Will served as a Director & Managing Attorney at Southern California Edison Company (SCE), one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, where he managed a team of attorneys advising on corporate governance, public disclosures, finance, and cybersecurity matters.  He also previously managed a group of SCE attorneys supporting SCE’s $4 billion annual energy portfolio, including procuring renewable power and battery storage resources to support California’s ambitious decarbonization goals. 

Prior to joining SCE, Will practiced law at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles, where he represented clients in a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities matters, and financing transactions. Before attending law school, Will taught 8th grade mathematics and science in the Compton Unified School District.
